I'm very excited to be returning to Northwood School for my FOURTH year! It is absolutely amazing to be working with teachers, administrators, students, and parents to create such a remarkable learning environment. I have always wanted to be a teacher and l hope to motivate and encourage every child to his or her greatest potential!
I am a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with my B.A. in Theatre: Dance and M.Ed in Elementary Education. During Graduate School I spent a year working at Mast Way Elementary School as a first grade intern. After that year I received a year long position at the Portsmouth School of Ballet working as the Assistant Director. Then I moved into my first teacher position when I received an offer as a Founding Teacher at the MicroSociety Academy Charter School in Nashua, NH, where I was a second grade teacher for three years.
On a more personal note...
I am a very happy, energetic, and friendly individual. I love working with students to help them create, explore, and discover everything that is new and interesting to them. I believe that when we are in class together we should have an active learning environment which allows us to work together as a team to explore new ideas.
When I'm not at school I have a lot of different hobbies such as family, dancing, sports, eating delicious food, and traveling (especially to Disney). I enjoy taking family vacations, having weekend BBQ's, going boating out in Portsmouth harbor and attending family celebrations. My family is very close and we spend a lot of time together which I am very thankful for.
When it comes to sports I am an avid fan, especially when it comes to football! I've grown up in New England my whole life and therefore I am a true Boston fan when it comes to sports. In the fall and early winter I arrange my schedules to ensure that I don't miss a single Patriots game.
I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures. I have had the opportunity to explore most of the United States and I'm looking forward to expanding my travels overseas.
Lastly, my husband and I welcomed our daughter Nora this past April and we have loved spending time with her and watching her develop into herself. We love watching movies and taking long family walks with our dog Poe. Poe is a rescue dog who loves cuddling in blankets and snacking on treats!
